Market is flooded with lots of suncreens. Confused which one is for you? Check these labels on your suncreen before you buy it next time.
SPF
American academy of Dermatology recommends a SPF of 30 or more. SPF indicates the level of protection against UVB rays. In our India scenario SPF 30 to 50 will suffice.
BROAD SPECTRUM
Broad spectrum label means protection against both UVA and UVB rays.
WATER RESISTANT
Choose a water resistant one especially if you are swimming or sweating.
TYPE
Physical Suncreen (containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide) is preferred more over if you have a sensitive skin.
GEL/LOTION or CREAM
It depends on your skin type.Use a lotion or more preferably a gel form Suncreen if you have a oily acne prone skin. Always look for non comedogenic label .Use a cream for a dry sensitive skin.
FOR CHILDREN
Always use a pure physical suncreen for kids.
